VISA Stock has been in my portfolio since 2009. Visa Stock symbol is V and it trades on New York. While hindsight shows that perhaps I should have bought shares in August 2009 when they were trading for $66.48 rather than engage in Put Selling, I believe strongly in selling options rather than owning stock. When I buy stock it is almost always for short periods of time. I have been interested in VISA Stock since it went public. Since 2009 I have made $34,200.00 Put Selling against Visa Stock. If I had bought shares I would have bought 1000 at $66.48 and if I had sold them on Dec 30 2011 at $101.53 I would have earned $35050.00. The amounts between Put Selling versus stock ownership are so small that it shows the value of Put Selling versus buying and holding stock. With buying and holding VISA Stock there is no capital gain until the stock is sold. With Put Selling the exact opposite is true. My capital gains are made monthly each time a put trade closes. I am earning my capital gain throughout the trade and never have to decide when to sell my stock and at what price.
Below is the VISA Stock monthly chart since it went public. The stock began trading March 17 2008 and closed at $64.35. From there the stock fell and continuing falling into the bear market collapse of 20008 to 2009, making an all time low of $41.76 on Jan 19 2009. VISA Stock (V Stock) Investment Strategy
The investment strategy for VISA Stock is Put Selling at what I believe is fair value. I have little interest in holding the shares for any period of time. If I am assigned shares I will immediately sell covered calls to be exercised out of my shares and then return to Put Selling against VISA Stock.
