The Market Direction Outlook for the Toronto Stock Exchange for May 6 was for stocks to attempt a bounce to start off the day and then more selling to erupt and a lower close. The market did not start the day with a bounce but instead fell rapidly and by 9:50 it had already broken through the 15000 level which was the 100 day moving average. A small rally brought the TSX back to 15000. From there into the mid-afternoon the market drifted sideways until by 2:47 it was down to around the 14960 level again. This brought in traders who pushed stocks higher ending the day down 150.05 points at 15,023.89 as traders held the 15000 level and kept the 100 day moving average intact.
