Toronto Stock Exchange Drops 228.59 Points

The TSX on Monday fell back 228.59 points for a loss of 1.79%. The all-time high of 15,685.13 was over a year ago now. The 12 month high is now 15,524.75 from April 2015. The TSX is down 2989 points or lower by 19.26% on Monday by the close. The collapse of the market now has the benchmark index trading at 19.3 times earnings which is still 14 percent higher than the S&P 500 index.

The collapse of oil today was one of the culprits of the retreat in stocks but also growing fears of a credit problem developing , particular among junk bond markets pushed financial shares lower in Europe, the US and Canada.
