The decline in the TSX Composite Index on Thursday Mar 24 was mild although the index did start the day with very strong negative momentum.

TSX Composite Index Chart – Intraday Mar 24 2016

The intraday chart for the TSX Composite Index for March 24 shows on Thursday, the Index opened the day at 13,255.47 under heavy negative momentum.

But the TSX Composite Index climbed from the opening drop and within an hour the negative momentum had turned positive. The TSX climbed throughout the day establishing the familiar pattern of higher highs and higher lows. While positive momentum built early in the afternoon, it began to decline toward the close although it did still stay positive. The closing reading though was just 100.11 which, while positive is closer to neutral on the day.

TSX Composite Index Closed Down 21.37 Points

By the end of the day the TSX Composite Index managed to close down just 21.37 points for a very mild 0.16% loss on Thursday. The close was at 13,358.11 and keeps alive the bullish outlook for stocks.
