Friday saw the overbought condition of the TSX Composite Index finally catch up. Energy, banking, telecom and consumer staples fell in a fairly broad retreat.

The one minute TSX Composite Index intraday chart shows the decline on Friday. The TSX opened above 13600 and then sold off steadily until by 1:20 it reached the 13500 level and bottomed. From there a short rally managed to regain around 40 points before more selling erupted. By the close the TSX was down 124.23 points for a loss of 0.91%. The Index closed at 13,497.07 back to the important 13500 resistance level.
