The Canadian Stock Market outlook for Tuesday June 7 was for the TSX Composite Index to close higher in what was expected to be a bit choppier trading.

By the end of the day the TSX Composite Index was up 0.63%

TSX Composite Index Rises 89.45 Points

Over the past two trading days the Canadian Stock Market has moved up 228 points. The action is almost all confined to the morning to 10:35.

The market spent the first hour and five minutes racing higher to reach 14350 on the back of rising oil and other commodities. Investors jumped into stocks like First Quantum Minerals and Teck Resources pushing them up over 7 percent. In general commodities are now believed to be in a new bull market after the Bloomberg Commodity Index rose 20 percent from the January lows.

The push in the index in the morning to 14350 held for the remainder of the day on Tuesday and the TSX Composite Index closed at 14,365.61 another new high for 2016.
