The Canadian Stock Market Outlook for Wednesday April 13 2016, was for the TSX Composite Index to push higher after experiencing some weakness in the early part of the morning. By the close the TSX Composite Index had gained 89.93 points to close at 13,671.35.

The morning was weaker but by 11:00 AM the TSX Composite Index was back climbing and by noon it was at the highs for the day pushing to 13,700, the highest intraday level for the year. The rest of the afternoon the market drifted sideways continually challenging the 13,700 level. The last hour saw some selling which pushed the index to 13,671.35 for a gain of 0.66%. The difference on Wednesday though was the decline in the heavy selling once the TSX Composite Index moved above 13600.

TSX Composite Index Momentum

Momentum in the morning on Wednesday was strongly positive and stayed that way until into the lunch hour. With The TSX Composite Index up around the 13700 level over the lunch hour and afternoon, the momentum to the upside eroded until it became weaker.
