Put Selling is without a doubt my favorite strategy. When stock markets enter a correction or downturn such as we are seeing at present, there are a variety of opportunities that present themselves. Some of those are using strategies like bear ETFS or Ultra Short ETFS. Others are using my Spy Put Options strategy. There are also many others including selling puts against large cap stocks that I would own if assigned but working to stay away from assignment throughout a downturn. This requires a specific strategy to be in place long before it is ever needed to continue to generate income despite market uncertainty. It then becomes a matter of staying consistent to the strategy no matter what happens to stocks, especially when the Fed ends its Quantitative Easing program.
