Closing early makes these trades simply ideal. https://www.fullyinformed.com/members/understanding-taking-profits-in-apple-stock-an-investor-shows-how-dec-22-2015/
Teddi KnightKeymasterDefinitely again a great trade. Closing early and not waiting for the nickel close works well. https://www.fullyinformed.com/members/understanding-taking-profits-in-apple-stock-an-investor-shows-how-dec-22-2015/
Teddi KnightKeymasterVery nice trade on this stock. Closing early often pays handsome returns and frees up capital for other trades. https://www.fullyinformed.com/members/understanding-taking-profits-in-apple-stock-an-investor-shows-how-dec-22-2015/
Teddi KnightKeymasterI have no problem with the stock. Post what your position is, how many shares you have, their price, your break-even point, how much of your portfolio this comprises and your goal for this trade. If you goal is to just get out then that too is a goal. But to what extent and at what cost. Do you want to only break-even or do you want a profit. What also are your concerns with your position. That will make an answer much easier.
Teddi KnightKeymasterIn my article on handling the market direction a couple of days ago I indicated I was taking profits. I still think small profits are always best when the direction is sideways which it presently is. I get the ARMS from my broker.
Teddi KnightKeymasterHi Tony
You can post your further questions. I did not see your reply. Thanks.Teddi KnightKeymasterNice job Amy. I am rolling lower as outlined in my original trade article.
Teddi KnightKeymasterShould be an interesting trade. Be sure to update us when it ends.
Teddi KnightKeymasterI will take another look. Sorry I didn’t get the time to look. I am not worried about ADM and will get that article found. Basically I am rolling lower and adding put positions. I have traded the stock a couple of times but not presently.
Teddi KnightKeymasterInteresting trade but I think $85 could be a bit high. Just an opinion.
Teddi KnightKeymasterThe links are what you are looking at within each trade. This is why Google docs was a poor choice. It was recommended to me by an investor but obviously they do not work well. At any rate they will get updated and by 2016 the portfolios will all be up-to-date at the end of each day since I will no longer be using Google docs.
Teddi KnightKeymasterHi Dizzle
My assistant has been working on changing the formats. A lot of the trades are in Google docs which just do not work properly. She is busy changing them from Google docs to straight HTML. If you check ones like Abbott, Merck, Disney, you can see the difference in those with Google docs and those without. Apple is still on Google docs but she is changing that along with the market direction over to straight HTML.Teddi KnightKeymasterIn the chart https://www.fullyinformed.com/members/trade-alert-and-recap-visa-stock-v-trade-alert-for-dec-4-2015/ you can see the fast stochastic has a solid up signal and the stock continues to hold the Middle Bollinger Band.
Note that I did not buy stock. I am selling put options at the $75.50 put strike. Note the strength of the buy signal on Friday in the Fast Stochastic was the highest in months. Today’s drop in the stock with the overall market is still not strong in relation to the up signals.
Remember though, I didn’t indicate this as a stock buy signal but as a time for selling put options.
Take careTeddi KnightKeymasterI will find my article and post a link. The stock should be bouncing shortly.
Teddi KnightKeymasterHi Jean
My first question would be are you a Canadian? I assume you are. Second would be not to be concerned on the oil question. Our banks are not as heavily exposed as many analysts believe. Oil would have to move considerably lower. Third would be to ask yourself, why did you not average down in August when the banks sold off?
With answers to those questions I can offer some suggestions.
TeddiTeddi KnightKeymasterHi Jon;
What price did you enter at and how many shares are you holding? As well when IWM moves up can you outline why you are not rolling up your covered calls as IWM moves higher instead of getting trapped deeper with in the money covered calls? That will help me with an answer.Teddi KnightKeymasterNice price on the trade Amy.
Teddi KnightKeymasterGood choice! I think this is a great trade on a great stock. Keep us posted! Thanks.
Teddi KnightKeymasterYes, I will get it up there tonight! Thanks for the reminder Amy!!
Teddi KnightKeymasterHonestly Donald, it is a great trade even though it looks like it is heading down to my naked puts. Biotech was all the rage going into 2015, but from what I have been reading, a lot of analysts are getting out of Biotech figuring the “Boom is gone”. This will mean deals shortly in stocks like PFIZER, BMY and possibly even JNJ if the selling intensifies in coming weeks in Biotech stocks in general, which means all health related stocks as well.
Teddi KnightKeymasterThanks Denis for posting this. I didn’t get a chance to respond to your question but MBT has been around a long time. It is primarily a dividend stock for most investors who buy it and tuck it away. That’s such a shame as they could make so much more by trading it once in a while.
Teddi KnightKeymasterThe dividend is the big factor here. The key to collapses is understanding the decline. This article from today (Nov 23) looks at understand stock volume and how it can be used to profit from a collapse like Macys. I used Macys in this example as I am about to unload my shares. https://www.fullyinformed.com/learning-to-profit-big-from-understanding-stock-volume-macys-stock/
Teddi KnightKeymasterI sold my Intel Stock this morning. Here are the 5 key signals I use to advise me when to end a Bollinger Bands Strategy Trade, take my profit and look elsewhere. https://www.fullyinformed.com/5-keys-to-reading-the-exit-signals-for-the-bollinger-bands-strategy-to-lock-in-profits/
Teddi KnightKeymasterDefinitely lost support. I will show a trade that an investor wrote me and how to fix the trade at the present time.
Teddi KnightKeymasterSorry it took so long to get back to you on this trade. If this was my trade I would accept shares and then buy more shares at the depressed prices today to average down and then sell in the money covered calls to be exercised out.
