Hi Amy. Glad you said assessment rather than recommendations. I cannot recommend trades obviously and this Market Direction Portfolio trade is more speculative than usual but I like the two trades entered and look forward to seeing how they end up. Both of these will require a bit more management than normal but as I plan to trade them I think they should both end profitably.

Absolutely. $31.50 would be a terrific steal right now on Intel. Weakness in tech stocks continues and probably more to come. I don’t see a lot of reason to rush in but working my way into positions definitely pays off.

Goldman Sachs issued a “buy” on the oil giant’s stock, saying Exxon is the only one of the oil majors that will generate positive free cash flow in 2016, and will have the cash the make acquisitions going forward.

Technically lots of damage but 2075 and 2050 on the S&P had very little support. The 2000 level is what will be the judge of the next move in the markets.

well, we’ll see how it works out next week. I think it would have held if the market had not dissolved. If that continues, then yea, DAL goes along.

I sold the $44’s, so it doesn’t have to bounce much next week.

if any airline will survive and go up, I think Delta will. 34 years in the business and Delta is a good airline. Of Course I didn’t mean buy and hold with my strategy, probably would be out almost daily.

Teddi, Would you roll the two utilities you have, referring to your DUK @ 75 and SO % 45? I don’t think I saw a roll on SO, and I might be willing to accept assignment on that point.

XOM Stock making a new 52 week low now.

It’s the volatility but on a day with the Dow down 300 points the VIX Index is up just 10%. Normally I would expect a 15 to 20 percent jump which is what we usually see from the VIX. This tells me that the majority think the selling is overdone and are sitting on the sidelines.

I closed my $44 puts today and took the profit. The stock is hammering against support here. If it breaks it will move lower. Personally I prefer in the money covered calls so as to improve the likelihood of being exercised out of the shares.

With only 500 shares of SDOW I wanted to close this trade and take the profit. There will be better opportunities to profit in the market direction portfolio than with this trade. It is too small at this time and needs a better entry point.

sorry, I misread my orders. Not filled, and now not likely to get filled.

I am thinking $85 will be a tough level to break as well.

I have the March 13 85.50 and 85 strikes in short put spreads.

I decided to keep the 85 for now and roll the 85.50 to Mar 27 and sold the mar27 84/75 put spread for $.87

These down days sure keep us busy!
