not for me. I spent all day out which is why I closed pre-market, but it looks to me like this might have legs; maybe not those of an octopus, but a few tendrils:)

I am definitely in on the wreck…!

I have been “bobbing and weaving” on several INTC positions on puts and assigned share calls. Right now I have 5 x Apr 17 32 covered calls on shares I took assignment of last week at 33.5 which I followed with a 33 call on Tuesday’s rally and rolled down today to a 32 call on the weakness. At the end of that drill my basis is 31.90. I am also holding 5 x Apr 17 32 puts that are roll downs from Mar 20 33’s at a small credit. I also closed out 5 x Mar 27 34.5 puts during Tuesdays rally @ 2.20 which is a loss at the moment. I have not rescued this particular trade yet. Waiting for the dust to settle. Anticipating selling 10 puts in 2 or more strikes in the high 20s at tbd expiration. Waiting for signs of a bottom between general market malaise and INTC specific issues.

Thanks Amy. I’ll just hang on to my WMT until tomorrow now, maybe I’ll get lucky and it will crawl up to 82…..getting closer now.

V up 3 bucks this morning, hanging on to the 265’s for now also. Could get dicey next week tho.

    Cheers,
    Kevin

Sold my SDOW pre-market. nice profit in my pocket. Market looks to rally and will be led by financials for sure; I can always re-purchase.

I closed mine for a small loss as soon as I saw it break down under $82. I don’t want to own it, I don’t want to tie up money chasing it, so I just took a loss; didn’t want to make it bigger by waiting. Yes, it might bounce, but the market wasn’t looking “bouncy” at the time:)

Teddi I was thinking the same thing would be great if you could do an follow article on it or maybe a mentor program on it I would have no problem paying for it. I went through almost all of the artciles and can’t find a part 2. I was interested in the part of buying options with high deltas and leveraging it. Since my money is in my roth Ira, I don’t have a the ability to use margin. the article was written sept 18th 2012

    “STO 3/20 CALLS: STRIKE 97.00 @ .74”

patience GRASSHOPPER:) I also added calls at $100. Knew it wouldn’t last. Guess it’s at least part luck, but what does MCD have to juice earnings all of a sudden? A strong dollar won’t help either:)

The kinves are still falling in KO. 2 week drop so far with nary an up day.

Has the world stopped drinking Coke or water (which is more profitable than Coke!)? It could be the article on CNN a couple of days ago that they are stopping putting a near chemical-relative of flame-retardant chemical in some of their drinks (already banned in Europe, etc.). What idiot thought that was a good idea in the first place?

    Anyway…
This looks pretty iffy for me to step in and do something longish — too much looking into the abyss here, for me.

An unconfirmed case of avian bird flu in Arkansas is creating some anxiety in the poultry industry.
USDA testing is underway on the case.
Poultry exports to certain nations could be limited if the development worsens.
The chicken sector has also been hit recently with concerns on the use of certain antibiotics

Thanks for mentioning selling the YUM calls this AM. I sold them when you first mentioned it in February. I was thinking of closing them, but now I think I will wait:)

    • The industry’s net profit margin is expected to improve compared to a year ago due to lower fuel expenses.

    • Airline fares fell 3% in January and are expected to have shown a smaller decline in February. March fares are seen as holding steady due to strong business demand.

nice to be keeping up with the drop. I have been doing that with STX, rolled gain today. As long as you can keep yourself even, it’s better than most although it does occupy capital.

    Closed my 5 x 82.5s at 1.04 and my 3x 82s at 0.80 today.

    Rolled down and out to 5 x 4/17 80s @ 0.77 and 5 x 5/15 77.5s @ 0.83. The combined trade adds 2 contracts and is a very modest credit.
Not an elegant solution, but I wanted to get out of the way of the down elevator. fwiw…

    >> With TD TOS it’s $11.7 for 10 contracts and $7 flat for stock, assignment is $15. <<

Yes, I think it would be great to use the TOS platform, but last time I checked TD did not allow US$ denominated RRSPs. Has that changed?

It’s hard with the banks to get them to reduce their fees unless you are doing a ton of trades or have a lot of capital with them. It took me some time to get TD to change but I use all 3 now – questrade, interactive brokers and TD

Yes the shark strategy can be highly profitable. It also can be a lot of fun. Good hunting you two! Try feasting on the AGQ again as it remains highly volatile.
