Thanks Toby. Yes the tipjar is https://www.fullyinformed.com/tip-jar/
Teddi KnightKeymasterRe: Tip Jar – Top row on the FullyInformed.com site (not the member only site).
Teddi KnightKeymasterHow lucky that this was recovered from the lost files! I want to add to the tip bucket but can’t find it.
Teddi KnightKeymasterteddy,
why the mar 27 options and not the mar 20 options?Teddi KnightKeymasterThere are not many software which can handle Options. I bought Quicken Premier and it was a waste of money trying to get the options transactions properly in. I have downloaded the trial version of the above software and if it is good I intend to buy.
Teddi KnightKeymasterClosed my calls for .10—-> no point in waiting a month for $100. Never know.
Amy
Teddi KnightKeymasterThank you Kevin for the detailed response. ROI would be a problem for me too. Cost is OK, but I am mindful of the time spent in learning as well. There is more than enough to learn as it is :)
Thanks again,
Sachin PatelTeddi KnightKeymasterIf only those 7000 were mine!! Some investors sure have a lot of money for options. Here I am doing 3 and 4 puts and someone does 7000. Oh to dream….. LOL.
Teddi KnightKeymaster7,000 call options bought today for April strike $41. Nice trade Teddi!
Teddi KnightKeymasterI have to disagree a bit here. I entered 3 separate trades today in the stock. Here is my outlook and why I entered today as well as the next upcoming trade in the stock. https://www.fullyinformed.com/members/trade-alert-coca-cola-stock-ko-mar-16-2015/
Teddi KnightKeymasterDenis, what is the status of this trade?
Teddi KnightKeymasterTeddi,
You are now looking at selling calls on UPS. I was wondering if you factored in, or are concerned about, a FEDEX “sympathy” bounce, since FEDEX is expected to have good numbers?
Teddi KnightKeymasterHi sachinapatel
I have been using Trading Diary Pro for almost a year. I plan to renew in about a month. It’s not perfect, but for me it is good enough, and I have not found anything better.
It does a great job of downloading trades from IB and presenting them in a user-definable format. It has nice graphics to track your profits and account equity. It can handle multiple accounts – I think they need to be in the same currency, which is not an issue for most people. It has a multitude of reports to track progess, on an individual stock basis or account basis. It has a nice filtering tool that also allows you to group stocks or accounts to track, for example all your retirement accounts can be grouped and tracked.
On the con side, I have not been able to figure out how to get it to calculate ROI on a trade. I would like for it to integrate all trades for an underlying – puts, calls, stock – and show a total return, but either it does not have that capability or I can’t figure it out (I dump to excel to do this). It can sometimes act a bit wonky (sometimes I have trouble closing it), but it has NEVER lost any of my data. You will also have to spend some time learning how to use it, some of it is not straightforward. The company is a one man show, but on the positive side I usually get a reasonably quick answer when I email him with a question (he has implemented a few of the suggestions I have made).
I recall paying $129 initally, and I think it’s $45 for annual renewal. I feel it’s worth the price, so I’ll renew.
Cheers,
KevinTeddi KnightKeymasterI hope to see this answer too. Also, opinion on where to roll to avoid assignment. (I am reading the articles, just not fast enough.)
Teddi KnightKeymasterok, gotcha, that’s fair. I presume everyone here reads Teddi’s trade ideas I guess. If you have a question though, you can always go back and just scroll down under her latest articles or trade ideas.
Teddi KnightKeymasterCan you first email me the list you are considering. It will be easier to start offline and then we can set up a new topic on developing a watch list and get responses from others as well as myself. please email me at teddi@fullyinformed.com and we can start there first. Thanks
Teddi KnightKeymasterTeddi
it was very interesting to read the investment plan drawn by Sam and your review comments. I am glad that I am part of this forum and I am learning a lot. I need help on creating a watch list. I want to start with your watchlist if you can share and customize to my needs. Is it possible to share the watchlist and any article or advise you have on how to maintain the watchlist will be great to have.Teddi KnightKeymasterExcellent points, Teddi.
Teddi KnightKeymasterUnless there is a lot of upside movement, selling the $50 puts on Monday may still find put premiums relatively unchanged by Thursday heading into the dividend. The marketmakers are aware of all these types of events and adjust option premiums accordingly. Therefore if you are selling the $50 put to try to close before the dividend payout, and do not want the stock, I would be selling the puts lower. There are so many other stocks I often question doing these types of trades for less than a 1% return for the week of risk. Just my opinion.
Teddi KnightKeymasterI never really liked the company or the stock. Reminds me of bombardier as another stock I have no interest in trading. Management seems to be warm then cold.
Mar 15 2015 at 4:22 pm in reply to: Message attachments have disappeared from the member forums #17404Teddi KnightKeymasterIt should be fine to attach images now. Tech support advises they prefer that images be uploaded here since images are stored locally rather than links to other sites which can slow my site down. Thanks.
Teddi KnightKeymasterFor those interested, LVS goes ex this Thursday (3/19) and now offers a 5% dividend yield. The stock has been hammered over the last year and is now close to the 52 week low ($49.82).
For puts expiring this Friday (3/20), the 50 strike ended trading last Friday (3/13) at $0.39 which is 0.78% for 5 days of trading.
The economic news out of China is likely to remain poor during the week and could push premiums further North. Despite this pressure, those seeking the hefty dividend are likely to keep the stock price above the 50 strike.
Mar 15 2015 at 1:08 pm in reply to: Message attachments have disappeared from the member forums #17400Teddi KnightKeymasterOk. Is it OK if I post a link to my blog which has charts?
I think that way I do not blow up the chart size here.Teddi KnightKeymasterI like this stock at the $38-40 level. I used to trade this a lot and sell naked puts at $40. Then it went on a run up and I stopped trading it. Now it is back to this level and in my opinion ripe for put selling again.
Teddi KnightKeymasterOn 3/12 with PEP at 95.14,I took Teddi’s advice and STO four 17Apr15 100C/120C spreads for a credit of 1.00. Can’t do naked calls in my IRA.
