Amy – Not sure if you check the Pegging. Another useful information to check from a risk management point of view. Mostly you will find AAPL peg where there is huge Open Interest. There is a good website to check https://www.optionistics.com/quotes/strike-pegger. It will give you possible closing price on the next two or three expiries. As of now the peg is expected to be at 125.15 on 5/15. I think it is a safe trade to consider. I will be holding my 124/120 Bull Put for 05/15

So I am out for 39% of my premium. I don’t like the way it’s trading, and I don’t want to sit on it over the weekend. If I had to guess, I think it will hold the lower BB, but I don’t need that stress, when there are easier ones out there.
JMO, and thanks for getting me thinking more about it.

Your exact number was available again this AM. Got it.
Even if we get a nice bounce, the SDOW is a comfort in this kind of market.

I am using stockcharts.com on a 6 month view. I show lower BB at 123.57

I am expecting that it will NOT break the lower BB, although this is not a hold to expiration trade. I saw the opportunity on a huge sell off yesterday, and presumed if there was a market bounce, AAPL would bounce. I agree with Teddi that it looks to be in a downtrend. If I had the courage, I would sell calls.

Thanks. I am not sure where you are seeing 200 day support at 123.44. Here is what I have based on 3 months daily chart.
SMA 20 127.44, SMA 50 127.10, SMA 200 111.68. BB 131.70/123.64. As per this, AAPL has broken both SMA 20 and 50. It is just above lower BB. I think you must be using one year chart. My inference is in the short term, the only chance of it is holding is at lower BB.
I would like Teddi to comment on my assessment as it will clear what charts we use for such short term opportunities.

    sadaiyer,

My reason was the reason I mentioned in the post. $123.44 is the 200day, and as I look at the chart, there seems to be a lot of support between $123-122.5.

Also on April 28, Teddi posted the following:”I sold 20 put contracts of the $125 put strike for May 15 expiry for 1.03 cents”

This seems a little bold trade. I have a bull put spread 124/120 which I entered when the stock was above 130 based on Teddi’s note a few days ago. It will be interesting to know what is your basis for using 123 when the stock today is at 125. If you follow option pegging website, AAPL should close above 125 on 15th May.

Haven’t heard of RR tracks. Looked like it was going to print a first candle sideways inside the BB today until the 2:30 sell off. Watching the close…

Went a little lower that Teddi’s 77.50, since the market is so squishy.

Have you heard of railroad tracks as a candlestick formation? MMM looks like one to me, although I am not too sharp with RR tracks sine you see them so rarely. If this is a bullish set of RR tracks from the past two days, then we have hit bottom and are bouncing but I’m not positive.

    { I need Teddi on speed dial, lol}

Are there similar trade opportunities appearing for KO as it’s getting close to the yearly low?

WELL, IN THIS MARKET, EVERYTHING WILL ELUDE THE PLAN. WE HAVE UNTIL MAY 15, DURING WHICH THE MARKET CAN DO ANY NUMBER OF THINGS EVERY DAY!! It has bounced off the lows, which shows someone is buying.

WELL, AFTER MANY ROLLS, I CLOSED MY $115 AND $120 STRIKES PROFITABLY THE PAST TWO DAYS. SO HERE I GO AGAIN FOR MORE SELF FLAGELATION: sto WYNN may strike $100 @ .88. WILL LIKELY BE ROLLING AGAIN….ARGH….

I DON’T RECOMMEND THIS TRADE FOR ANY SANE PERSON, BUT SOMOMEWHERE ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. WYNN DID THE RIGHT THING BY CUTTING THE DIVVY. HE WILL/SHOULD BE ABLE TO FIND A WAY TO STOP THE BLEEDING, BUT IDK

SEEMS TO HAVE LONG, LONG TERM SUPPORT AT $100.

Indeed! I was expecting it to start moving sideways at 158…so far it is eluding my plan. Great company, earnings were ok, they just had the temerity to speak the truth about $ strength in the outlook. I checked my charting software, I am using the 200 ema v sma which explains the 155-154 difference.

Wal-Mart is planning to increase its investment in China, aiming to open 115 stores before 2017 and upgrade more than 50 this year. Wal-Mart (NYSE:WMT) has a mixed history in the country with the preference of consumers for local tastes making national distribution a challenge.

MMM is a fund favorite. Should be a good trade, and if necessary an easy roll. If the market holds, you should be ok. 200 day I show at $154, fyi.

Ah, well…Just as I posted the above…bid prices did return to some of the expiry dates, including the May 15, 14 strike….Maybe this Texas boy is just a little slow in the saddle and too quick on the trigger of misunderstanding.
    Thanks again,
