TOS is a difficult platform to understand at first (and last probably, also).
I have been on it for several years and truly have just scratched th surface regarding the analysis functions. The trading and charting applications are very good and pretty easy..just start clicking your way through them…Big help is click on the help tab and then go to the learning center….open and print(or use) the 67 page users manual…very instructive.
You will also find there the many chat rooms including ones devoted only to using the TOS platform….These guys are VERY good and instructive AND, for me, start with the basics….I have also attended a few of the personal seminars that they hold from time to time…..TOS is very powerful, IMHO, but does have a learning curve:)

    Thanks Teddi,
On 27 March, I rolled out to 8 May (expires worthless today) and down to $31.50 which was the furthest available $31.50 at the time and added another PUT. Original trade was STO $32.50 @ 0.40, BTC $32.50 @ $2.58, STO $31.50 @ 2.10 (plus one extra). Not a huge profit, but the original trade was going to produce $200 and the repair produced $170 albeit over two months vice three weeks. (I like INTC, still have ongoing trades!)

Is this a sell the market open? Big gap ups usually die on the vine, no?

Obviously the move to the downside on April 30 with the SDOW was the correct move to make.

no smarter words were ever spoken!!

    Teddi,

Are you using a trailing stop on the SDOW trade?

    Hi
Not sure if you guys had seen this post of Teddi
https://www.fullyinformed.com/members/investing-strategy-notes-and-trade-ideas-before-the-markets-open-may-5-2015/. She outlines the support levels for AAPL. I will go by her judgement.

I entirely agree with Teddi. To me it is an additional input. The primary is ofcourse the support/resistance viz. DMA 20/50/100 and BB with 2 STD

Dave – I have not subscribed to this. I have only experimented with it for the last few months. It is only to reassure ourselves that the strike we are looking at is not out of tune with the market makers. Hence limited value

“The May 15 expiry $120 put strike can probably be sold for 65 to 70 cents if the IWM dips even slightly on Tuesday. This is half a percent for two weeks of risk. I hope to enter this trade on Tuesday.”

Hoping your thoughts are right! STO IWM MAY STRIKE $120 @ .90

Nice trade. I like to do some of those way out, and then close like you did, because I can get a big premium occasionally. Congratulations, a profit is a profit!

I bought to close this trade on Monday 4 May for 0.21 keeping 55% of the premium after four days on this possible two and a half month trade (17 Jul expiry).

Anyone else looking at the wanderer chart for FB? I am tempted to write a May 22 76 NP for 0.60…but I’m thinking I am early and should wait for a further sideways candle. Opinions?

Completely accurate Teddi. I watched the site on Friday for a lot of my stocks, and I noticed the changes too. I’m not sure its as reliable as it looks. My money is still on your ideas and support lines, and should have kept my AAPL trade, but money is made, and that’s what counts.

Teddi, I think I posted this in the wrong section,

I have a question that has confused me for some time, and I am hoping you can answer it for me. The past two days you have taken substantial {for many of us} positions in the SDOW, yet seem to continue to have a portfolio of puts you have sold. When I see you moving strongly into the SDOW, it gives me pause in my own certainty on trades that I might not otherwise doubt, example, today AAPL. If the market is going down, so it AAPL, at least in my head, although I have my own PTSD issues with a former bad AAPL trade.

While I know all decisions are our own, I know that many of us look at your trades and make judgments that are affected by what you are thinking since you seem to always be a step ahead.

Are you comfortable owning SDOW as a “hedge” while keeping your positions, or do you try to close early when you buy SDOW?

Always wanted to ask this, so now I am:)
