Hi Teddi!
Thanks so much. With the slight dip in the market, maybe it’s time to do a repair, although the calls are so deep in-the-money not sure if any good ideas are possible :(Wondering if you have/found any thoughts/articles on the website that would be applicable to such a deep in the money situation?
Thank you so much.
Best,
roopcourt1ParticipantThat’s awesome.
Could you please share how you unwound the trade? Once the numbers came out, which options did you sell when? How did you time?
Also did you put on the trade all at once on the day before NF numbers or did you do it over the course of the day.
Combining Teddi’s awesome trade idea with good trade management from my side s something I’m still figuring out.roopcourt1ParticipantI am so intrigued by the Trade Ahead of Earnings strategy.
I paper traded this strategy for META, which obviously shot up after earnings.
With the cost for the reverse iron condor at approx $8 before the earnings release, today around close I see the puts are worth almost zero and the calls around 13. That means a $5 profit.
So questions are:
1) when I tried to put on the reverse iron condor at $8 before earnings I just couldn’t get less than about $11, which would make the risk-return not worthwhile. Any thoughts there?
2) did you trade out of both options spreads today after earnings or do you have a different strategy for trading out of them? I would be worried to hold them with the eroding time value.
Feel there are so many nuances to this strategy. Would love to try it though!
Thanks, as always, Teddi.roopcourt1ParticipantThank you for your response, Teddi. I’ll keep an eye out for the article on setups.
Hache02, thanks for your input. You seem quite an active trader. I’ve only done the naked put selling/credit put selling. SPY intraday hedge strategy not viable for me as I can’t be continuously at my desk for long periods at the moment. WHat have you personally found as the next “easiest” strategy that you’ve used. Would love to see what’s worked for you.
