Amy, I got in your hip pocket a while back on the weekly EOG play and it has served me well. Thanks! This morning (Monday) with EOG at $93.10, I sold Friday 91 puts for 53 cents.

Got out of the soup Friday morning by covering my 10 contracts. Netted a whopping +$34. Too many cooties on this one to hold it through next week.

CPG is now off about 6 1/2 % from yesterday’s close. Crummy earnings report. Sales projection was not rosy.

Optionslam showed me that in 2014, CPG got knocked down 7% during the day that it made its morning earnings announcement. The next day, it recovered a good bit and was down only 2 1/2 % from its pre-earnings close.

    Pray for a replay.

I like the look of those DUK Jan17 65 leaps. Any reason I should not run a put credit spread at 50/65 and cut way down on required capital? Thx, pabloindallas

YUM strikes me as too far too fast. I put my money where my mouth is and sold a call credit spread for week May4 15 when the stock was at about 93.25. Now YUM, please rtfm.

DUK: Rolled out and down to Jul 72.5. Made a decent profit on the May puts and picked up another 95 cents on the Delta .29 new position.

Thanks, Amy, I am with you. Was trying to figure out a way to spot candidates for Teddi’s technique of turning, say, a 30-day expiration period into a 25-day period.

Amy, I put on that same June trade on May 6. More immediately, I am riding short puts @ $75 that expire Friday. I hope most of today’s drop is due to ex-div (79 cents) and that the stock price will crawl back up the 30 cents or so I need. Good luck to both of us.

thx, mike. i have been mesing around with the schwab scanner. so so results…doesnt have input for minimum volatility. EXC might be a current candidate.

I don’t have any 74.5s left, but I do have a wad of May 69.5s. You are correct…earnings came out OK, but the real exposure is to the chicken flu. I’m going to hold off and let the germs settle before I double down on this “sure fire” winner. :>)

Hi Tiki- I plucked the first brood of chickens when the March monthlies expired. The second clutch is still in the incubator awaiting April monthly expiration and I’m hoping the temperature doesn’t drop below 75 degrees.

Thanks, Kevin. I think I’m going to wait and let time do some work for me. At $76.50, there is still about 80 cents time premium in those $77.50 mar puts. I will roll when that time premium decreases.///The whole utility market is down today. I did Teddi’s XLU recommendation (sold Mar15 44 puts) fairly early and got 61 cents. After XLU slid some more I sold Mar2 15 43 puts.

    All the best,
    Pablo

    Nice one, BIIP. I’ve been a PAA-er for years. A well-managed company.

Thanks Kevin, I’m with you. I did not place the order until the market had been open about 10 minutes and my order ticket price was a nickel higher than the then-current ASK price. I think the old adage about “amateur hour” got handed to me.

Doggone it, I wish my crystal ball had been better tuned! I would have been better off just buying the stock near its low and selling it later in the morning. After being off a couple of bucks, the stock is back at even with yesterday’s close.
