Thanks for the input. Appreciated.
optionsr4usParticipantWondering if I did this correctly as DE was not called away.
on March 24—Bought DE at 80.33 and sold April 78 call @ $2.81
March 28 DE closed @ $80.17
March 29–Dividend .60
March 28 at close– strike + CC premium was less than stock price + divyThanks in advance for any input
optionsr4usParticipantAny thoughts on NKE? Down over 2.6%. Supposedly rumors of NKE buyout interest in Fitbit and also rumors of weak China footwear sales. Earnings March 22.
optionsr4usParticipantThanks for your information Tom. I did read that article but unfortunately am still having some difficulty. I understand that once the dividend is worth more than the call option price plus the call strike, the stock is almost always exercised as the owner of the covered calls wants to pick up the dividend and then sell the stock. Where I am having trouble is how to arrive at the potential $73.50 and the expectation at what future point you should be exercised out of the position. Probably very plain to see but for some reason I am not comprehending.
optionsr4usParticipantAppreciate the reply. Thank you for your input.
optionsr4usParticipantWould appreciate input on selling MRK Oct. 2 49 put. Saw a headline”Clinton’s Tweet on High Drug Prices Sends Biotech Stocks Down.” Thanks
optionsr4usParticipantI am a learner so don’t post much. Wondering about a super buy write on JNJ. I would appreciate any input on this idea. Thanks
Buy JNJ @ 99.07
Sell Aug 28 97.50 @ 1.96
