nice Denzil!
nitromicroParticipantIMHO You probably shouldn’t trade in stocks you don’t know. It depends on your loss. The CDN banks have been trading down for 2 reasons:
1. The talk of housing bubbles (Vancouver and Toronto) in our media have people worried about bad bank loans.
2. Our banks also finance oil firms, so a drop in the price of oil also means that people tend to be afraid for bank profits (write downs).Regardless, the Cdn banking system is the most solid financially in the world, they really don’t take much risk. The dividend is 4.5% for CIBC. It has been the worst performing of the CDN banks (TD, BMO, RY, BNS, CM). Usually the worst performing one year becomes the best performing the next. As it seems to have bounced off the bottom BB a few days ago and is below its 50 day moving average. I’d wait for it to go up a a few bucks, then sell a CC on it. I was put the stock also (I had PUTs at 112.00 (TSX) and the stock closed at 111.99 on Friday), that is my plan. I might sell some more PUTs at $109 also as it has not been below $109 since early December or so.
Again, these are just my opinions and what I would do (and will do). This does not constitute blah, blah, blah, you know what I’m saying.

I also have sold these LEAPs a while ago.
WFC U.S. 01/19/18 35 PUT for 1.70, I could close for $0.35 today, but I have no need to free up capital at the moment.I checked my records, since I started trading WFC in December of 2015. My returns (after 64 transactions, most of which were PUTs) have been $8462.00 USD after transactions costs.
Happy days.
nitromicroParticipantI hold 4 wfc $53 PUTs dated 4/21. I sold them for .52. They are 1.70 now.
I want to keep the same number of PUTs, so I’ll roll to 7/21 $50 PUTs roughly $1.80.Now that earnings are out I may also sell 2 May $50 PUTs for .96.

nitromicroParticipantHi KikiB,
I do buy the stock a few days early (on dips). I do have confidence they will raise in the run up to ex dividend. Another option is to buy early on the day before ex-divvie. Here are the two trades I mentioned above (now that they are closed up).
TD profit was $1681.29 CDN
VZ profit was $2059.35 USDThis is in addition to a few other BB trades I did leading up to the ex-divvie for VZ. Total VZ profit was closer to $3361 USD

I didn’t get my AT&T covered though. I’m expecting to ride these out for a bit. I’ll sell Calls when they hit the top of the bolinger band and start flat lining.
I’ll calculate the profits tomorrow once everything has settled.
nitromicroParticipantI had some capital freed up as I had 1000 bns called away this am.
I bought 500 CIBC at $114.60 and sold the April 13 115 cc for $1.25.
nitromicroParticipantWe will see if I get a fill. Sto April 7 put $79 for 0.40
nitromicroParticipantI have 7 April 7 112.50 PUTs at 0.62 and 3 April 21 112 PUTs at .93 (bought weeks ago). We’ll need to see how this plays out. I’d be happy to own CIBC at $110, I lost all my shares in the run up from 100 to $110 a few months ago (that’s the hazard of selling CCs sometimes).
nitromicroParticipantAmazing tool and the best service I have ever subscribed to in my nearly 20 years of investing. I’m a member for life.
Thanks TeddinitromicroParticipantBoom! Sold 4 $48 PUTs at 0.50
Happy trading.
nitromicroParticipantBought 1,000 BNS at market open today for $79.00. Have an offer to sell April 21 $76 CC for $3.95. Obviously getting greedy. Regardless, I’ll prolly get a fill today or tomorrow.
nitromicroParticipantYup, traded in in 2015. Did great. Forget why I stopped. I put it back on a Google Sheets! Thanks for the remnder.
nitromicroParticipantYup!
Sitting on 1,300 BNS shares and 62 PUTS (47 of which are set to expire between Friday and April 21st). I’ll be watching for a SuperCharge BUY/Write oppy tomorrow or Thursday.I killed on a BB trade on VZ today also (will go ex-dividend April 6th).
You are the best!

I closed my BNS $77.50 March 31 PUTs today for 0.44, I sold them for $1.07 on March 20th. Still holding the $77 PUTs expiring this Friday. I sold some $76.50 PUTs on March 23rd for 0.86, expiry April 7th.
Loads of fun. Happy Days.
nitromicroParticipantI love the idea of us being able to load our “favourites” as I prefer to trade a limited range of stocks in both US and Canada and get notification on them (spreadsheet style is fine).
nitromicroParticipantI did not do the XBI trade. Unless I can see a clear 1.5-2% 30 day premium (1% minimum on a 15 day trade), I prefer to keep my powder for a better trade.
All the best.
nitromicroParticipantAgreed. Tikigod is a fox and she should be very proud of her accomplishments.
nitromicroParticipantHello,
I’m doing 5 options at a time (put options spread).
I did 104/90 last week (ending Oct 23rd) NET of 0.41 per option pair
and
I did 99/85 today (ending Oct 30th) NET of 0.64 per option pair
If assigned I would keep the shares and sell covered calls.nitromicroParticipantYes, I sold my 10 calls this afternoon at $1.29. Cost basis was $0.78.
I rarely buy calls (a wasting asset). I’m thrilled to be able to continue to learn from you.Larry
nitromicroParticipantI thought I would update people on what I did.
I bought back the 5 July 24 PUTs $29 for .55
and sold 10 July 31 PUTs $28 for .24I bought back the 5 July 31 PUTs $29.50 for $1.00
and sold 10 Aug 21 PUTs $28 for $0.60Still deciding if I should keep the 5 July 24 PUTs at $30.50 (cost basis will be $30.50 – .31 premium – .24 dividend) = $29.95 of if should roll out and down to September.
Input always appreciated.
nitromicroParticipantI have sold 5 Puts july 24 $29 @.29,
5 puts July 24 $30.50 @.31,
5 puts July 31 $29.50 @.34,
5 puts August 15 $28.50 @.50which is the most urgent to repair and any recommendations?
I currently hold 1,000 shares of Intel at a cost base of 29.42 with 5 CC @.46 expiring July 31.
