Thankyou Teddi, it all works now that the chart for GOOGL was fixed.
:)JeanParticipantHi Teddi,
What a wonderful title. I support the question of BeDutch and will add that I use Questrade for my RIF and LIF. So far I had lesser success with Montreal options than with US options for the same equity. Both exchanges were liquidity poor (it was a Oil related stock priced below $ 10) and the limited strike choices were apparent. So please indicate your price range preferences when doing trades in a RRSP or LIRA. Canadian brokers really do not seem interested in promoting such strategies (They keep commissions too high). Have you used collars in those accounts? What is your experience, indicators for collars?
How could we, retirees keep Canadian $ accounts yielding enough in order to “pay” for the automatic retrievals. Last year was not easy.
JeanJeanParticipantTeddi,
This is very interesting. Since you indicate that you have back tested this strategy, could you please provide us with the guidelines while we await the first trade? So, how are you going to use the options? Will it be by starting with a naked put ATM to be assigned?JeanParticipantHi Pass, thank you for the comments. I agree with you that now is not the right time to add to my position. I was referring to the period of August to Sept. where I did not pull the trigger, hence I ended doing less then 6% since bought.
Since I am retired I need to generate more (Teddi does 10 plus). So thank you again for mentioning 69 as a boundary (in hindsight the opportunity was there) .
How do you value a Cdn Bank stock with all the loans they made to the Oil patch companies? I doubt that BMO will announce dividend increases but they could surprise. What indicators do you use other than price for this? -
