Excellent! Thanks for all the links; I will study them.

JMParticipantHi Teddi,
Thank you so much for the reply.
I have observed that you advise using stops to other people to control the risk, but you rarely do it yourself, and are able to wiggle out of any loss and even turn it into a profit—this is what I am out to learn! I guess it take some time.
Thanks for the great work,
Jardi
JMParticipant…here is an updated chart after Friday’s close — looking forward to your trade update!

I thought I would share my two positions for the election for OCT and NOV (both butterflies in the QQQs).
I have had them on for about a week or so, but now looking at them closer I am second-guessing them, as you know how markets always like to make a fool of everyone involved; nevertheless, this is how I am positioned. As I have a lot of long deltas and really good positions, it can’t hurt to hedge a bit, not just for the election, but the other things that could surprise along with it; those unseen, unknown…
The NOV position is waaaaay out out the money, even in crash territory… just in case a move is bigger than expected. I will also add Teddi’s trades when she posts them.

Even though this explanation is for MJ, it is also very helpful.
I also found “(link removed as found out from a forum this video is more “fake news promo” than actual)” very interesting; I have not thought of that.
Great work,

Sep 24 2020 at 7:11 pm in reply to: Advice on NKE short iron condor breached on short call side (17 DTE) #101874JMParticipantMy NKE iron condor is now below the short calls (now profitable), but since my additional short put is down at 120, I will hold and let the time tick away; any thoughts Teddi?

This is a good question; Teddi, looking forward to your reply on this as well.

What a harrowing experience; I feel sorry for this person. They should have regulations in place to prevent this.
Thanks for sharing,

Sep 23 2020 at 1:02 pm in reply to: Advice on NKE short iron condor breached on short call side (17 DTE) #101788JMParticipantHi Teddi!
Ok, my final adjustment was when there was a bit of a bounce in NKE and some more theta decay coming off of earnings; I then rolled my 120 short put to NOV for some additional credit; now here is my P/L profile now—I will just now sit and wait, as I have 5.00+ of theta decay; I can still profit all the way down to 117.
Any thoughts or feedback are appreciated,
Jardi

I did not get your reply in time, so my adjustment was to wait for NKE to cool off a bit and then in the downdraft touching my short call, I sold a lower OCT 16 120 put naked (where I would own the stock), and the resulting P/L diagram now looks like this.
(any educational feedback is appreciated)

JMParticipantGreetings Thomas!
Many thanks. I added you on my Twitter (@ZachaZahn). Talk soon.
As noted, I am very active on a daily basis and looking for others.
JardiJMParticipantHi Mark!
Thanks for your reply. I added you on my Twitter (@ZachaZahn). Will talk soon.
JardiJMParticipantOk sent!
JardiJMParticipantExcellent; thanks Ernst! (reading now, and already like the start)
JMParticipantHi Ernst,
Yes, if you find a good solution please let me know. Also, I changed my Twitter settings so you can try that again.
Happy trading!
(I have quite a few long positions open that are doing well (ROKU, NFLX, etc.), but I “feel” there will be a selloff on a trade talks disappointment, maybe even today, so let’s see how this will turn out; my puts from yesterday (just a small position, 2 contracts) will basically be worthless today)Jardi
JMParticipantHi Ernst,
Thanks for your reply.
Although I have been trading many years, I am still learning and improving each day, and one thing I have indeed learned is that the outlook of an environment or situation can change in an instant, due to a simple Twitter comment or unforeseen event, and those who can react the fastest and get positioned have a better probable outcome.
I think Teddi does an excellent job, and I am sure she is quite overwhelmed with the work, but the communication in real time could certainly be improved with some sort of technology (live feed, cam, etc.). I also agree that it should be more private, and real time, and not open to the public, perhaps just members.
I would be in pure Heaven if I could just sit in the room with her and mirror the trades until I get a “feel” for the system, and particularly how to adjust when it goes wrong. I am certainly impressed with her work; for example, yesterday I was sure the market would sell off and didn’t follow here long calls (and instead went short)—I was wrong, and she was right, she made money (/again) and I lost money. Her experience over many years is what I am paying for and if I can learn it, it will be worth every dollar.
My name is Jardi by the way, and I am on Twitter as @ZachaZahn (in “listen mode” only for real-time feeds and don’t allow any followers).
Let’s try to work out some sort of system.
Jardi
JMParticipantHi Teddi,
Yes, of course; but just you; no one else. I am @ZachaZahn on Twitter.

JMParticipantHi Ernst,
Do you also know how to shade the overbought and oversold regions in thinkorswim?
Thanks!
