Yes exactly, I buy 500 in RRSP and write 5 puts in my regular account. Too bad we cannot do CSP in RRSPs as my regular account is doing much better past 2 years due to this advantage (income from puts or get in cheaper in stock if assigned). In this case, I like this trade so much I wrote an extra 10 puts.
hache02ParticipantYes great call. I just closed the Feb 46.5 put and still have some stock and mar 47 puts. I got in the week after Teddi’s call as I had missed the first (Teddi’s) dip.
hache02ParticipantThe market seems to like the purchase announced yesterday. I have been buying at 31 and selling at 33ish for the past few months as it has seemed to stay in this range. What is the buy price and you also left out your strike price unless this is on a long time holding.
hache02ParticipantI wrote Feb 6 and Feb 20 puts on the dip a couple of weeks after being out since the run up late last year made my target profit. Unfortunately a bit early so will prepare to roll this week the Feb 6th puts at least. This is a stock I want to get into cheaper via puts IMO.
Waiting on your and Teddi’s opinion.
hache02ParticipantTeddi, The last quarter of AAPL was unbelievable and now AAPL is (hitting) at all time highs. Still think it is a good time to get in. I am more inclined to use GOOG for weeklies instead esp since the price is in the 500’s and therefore cheaper, more lucrative to do.
What do you think?
thanks Denis
ps.
Cool to see a grandpa and grandson investing together. What about the son in this?
hache02ParticipantI still like TWTR as they have business and consumers aspects like a cross betwwen FB and LINKEDIN and both those are doing (too) well. I have been writing puts between 30 and 40 since Amy talked and advised me on it. Last time did my 5 puts in regular and 500 shares on the RRSP (Canadian IRA) instead of my past doing 10 puts. Sort of a strategy for late 2014!
hache02ParticipantThanks DK and Teddi, good points.

hache02Participantwrote this to article for Teddi before I had access to forum:
Teddi, What about SDOW and/or UDOW puts? They are there but little volume. I did an SDOW put a few weeks back for a small profit. Should have stayed in but thought this is the best time to be in stocks (Jan- Apr) in usual markets (due to bonuses, RRSP and 401K investments) IMO. What do you think?
