STO FB Aug 122P for 1.40 while FB closed at 124. A bit risky due to the tax noise I guess but 19% ROI for 22 days not bad.

Nice, Looking at the Aug 19th same strike but saw I have been playing XOM around 80$ all year so hesitant.

Lower BB, I added another 5 WBA 80P for 2.15 for an average of 2.175 for 10 now. Net 77.825, close to price Teddi likes as well. CC if assigned else 45% return on cash.

I made a nice profit on the last earnings but a PE in the hundreds and competition left and right is scary. Same with FB. Is all the noise around AAPL legit?

Nice trade there though. I took my profits and ran.

All I currently have is CPG in Toronto, WBA, DE, DAL and CBS for Aug expiry plus some various stocks like SKX. Slim pickings for us “put insurance sellers” :-)

I thought of that too but I was trading MCD early in year, maybe last year in the 95$ range. Soooooo 121 seems rich for me.

I will look to exit before earnings also. This is why we pay Teddi the big bucks ;-)

DE at 78.70. STO 5 Aug 77P for 1.70. Chased the 79P on Friday and I got 2$ less SP for similar premium. AND then

STO 5 AUG 77P for 2.10. 1.90 net, Now 36% ROI and lower BB among other indicators.

    Teddi,

YUM barely dropped on ex div date today so you must have ace’d that super buy write. I saw it too late to put it in play yesterday unfortunately.

I wrote the 57.50 for 1.52 Tuesday and have the 60 expiring next Friday but may close early since I have earned 80%. (July 60 STO 1.70 current .38 2 weeks ago).

    thanks

Teddi, What do you see as the sweet spot for JPM?

I rolled the July WBA to Aug 80P for BTC .40 and STO 2.20. I also closed the July CC for .30.

    Teddi,

This is what I was referring to in main group. I was following this thread and had not seen the reply. Just came across Toby’s reply today.

    Teddi

I will have to decide what to do before earnings next week as I have july 80P (earned 1/2 the premium) and 86CC (stock bought in RRSP at 82.50ish).

    thanks for the article.

    Denis

ps Amy, Are you into WBA since June 7th?

I tried to mimic this trade and screwed it up but by using CC twice, I covered my last CC and sold my shares for a 2000 cap gains + 460 dividend on 1000 shares. Got worried since I took out CC to get more spike on the shares (super charge buy write) that did not happen. Not bad 34% return on a blown trade but thanks for the idea.

You’re the one that wrote 20 today? The whole market is very over bought I believe too. Hard to find puts to write.

I was chasing this one all morning and STO 3 Jun 24th 98P for 1,40 and BTO 200 shares for 98.67. FWIW this is my 1st x’n in DIS.

I have been selling CC on CBS at the 55$ resistance for a few periods and it is setting up again. I think CBS is good quality but with problems but also should get lots from the elections, no?

I would like more info from you on the naked call strategy as I like to do it but have only had good success on TGT which I have found to be a dog.

Thanks Teddi. Could you write an article on this one as there should be a few Canadians interested.

I sold a small part of my investment in CC at 58$ which to me seems to have resistance. TD reiterated Action List buy recently and have upper 70’s/80’s target FWIW.

Teddi, Can you include NFLX too? I got in when the last earnings big drop and am up about 4K since and wondering whether to do CC, synthetic put or just sell.
Now selling and go away (as these are risky since they have one trick pony) OR sell while writing a put to get more premiums/get back in cheap.

These big cap tech can be scary as the dot.com bubble proved. FB at 80 pe comes to mind.

    What do you think?
    thanks

Last week I rolled the May to June for .75 credit on the 78. This was done when it dropped big as I was out for a while when it got to rich too fast. Teddi has a good review of today’s trade for today.

This has been a great trade so far. My April got assigned and I did another 5 for May that expired. So I have the 500 in margin acct and another 700 doing very well in RRSP.

I see the charts are favorable for AAPL going to go 110ish and as you know, don’t fight the Buffett (or was that the Feds)!!!

It and CNR have the best charts that I follow currently and I got assigned 1000 shares to go with my AAPL shares (also assigned).

Update: I was looking at the charts in new web broker TD and it had defaulted to 25,2 on BB so was not what I usually see. I changed it and see that AAPL is not as bullish as I thought and upside is slightly above 100.
