I would add 6. safer for earnings play like SKX. Strangles/straddle/long calls can be used too.

    Teddi

I think you misunderstood. I would have liked the results posted and future plan posted to the comments under the article. This would be more efficient than searching back and forth for article and comment elsewhere.

Maybe I misunderstand but that is what looks best, perhaps new web site improves on this.

    thanks

    Hi Teddi

I think you don’t respond on what happened with these super charged CC and it would interesting to see if you got assigned or what you will do going forward to expiry if not.

    thanks

Thanks for the reply. What I am currently doing is to do shorter short puts as in 1-2 weeks vs 1-2 months when markets are lower. I also dabble in SPXS UVXY & SCO too.

Bought 200 shares at 50.10 to setup CC on bounce if ever.

Teddi, As we don’t know how far this goes and if the CEO is canned, hit to their credibility and DB problems, I wrote puts on JPM, MS and AXP instead, (short term as financials are still high IMO).

I got .50 cents for mine. I mentioned no assignment as a reply to the article. I didn’t ask this question but said that I would keep to expiry as that would return 12% annualized, great for a Canadian bank. Thanks for asking the question.

You are playing that they don’t buy TWTR, right?

I bought some CPB, MDLZ and ADM on drops yesterday to put CC in place as we cannot do CSP on our Canadian retirement accounts.

I had been tempted to do puts on CPB before earnings but thankfully I held off.

When does Buffett take CPB out!

As my DE Sept 9th leg, I closed this morning after insane rise and 75% profit earned. Usually I wait to 80-90% but depends on DTE and feel about the stock (fundamentals).

Everyone is different. Some have chastised me here for closing at all and not letting expire but I am of the school of “bird in the hand …”. I usually do not get expired puts or assigned. BTC or roll.

Closed the sept leg for 75% also.

Yes bavage, SKX has been tough so far on the other side.

This is my first profitable trade using new platform IB. BTC at close yesterday for one cent. IB charged zero commissions.

I was rolling my Aug 77P to Sept 9 yesterday and didn’t get the Aug leg rolled. That was lucky. I can actually close both. Sometimes better to be lucky than good. I now closed the Aug ones for 2 cents and have an order to close the Sept ones too.

I got my 5 63P assigned last night. I will hold and then get out with CC once it recovers some more.

It is harder to get used to it after using 3 days+. I will get back to you when I figure it out. TD Active trader charts were not very good other than day or 2 day chart. I always used the TD basic service for charts as they were good.

I have 5 for Friday and will let assign and wait to bounce to write CC. That is my plan so far.

I considered rolling but the premiums not worth it.

Thanks Teddi. It is much better than TD Active trader and fees better than expected. I like that it tells me via sound when trade executes. My first trade was a buy put on MON instead of a SELL as I forgot to sent the buy/sell radio button and it defaults to BUY. Lost 100$ as an expensive lesson.

M then K, is this sesame street lol? Seriously I haven’t started Sept yet, closed half my Aug today for most of premiums and have 1 Leap on CPG a Canadian oil and gas.

ps. I start trading on IB Monday, night and day with TD for fees and tools. Should have done it ages ago but this year, 6000 in commissions already made me do it.

Great trading with these low premium environment.

    Amy, Amy, Amy

You did not take 90% over earnings? Why, just for 10 extra % premiums.
I would have been soooooo gone.

I guess easy with that hindsight thing.

Anywho why should I talk with TWTR still on my portfolio? FWIW this is my buyout gamble.
