    Amy,

    This is a rough market.

I did manage to roll my 182.50 put, exp 11/23 out to 1/18/19, 170 for a credit of .60. I will wait see how that plays out.

I been stuck with lot of overpriced FB and WYNN put contracts. I use Schwab for trading. For some
reason, I been getting assigned on FB, but not WYNN, they both are way out of money. I been selling the stock whenever I get assigned, re establishing the put positions at lower strike when I can afford it. FB assignments is just relentless. I have not experienced that with WYNN.

I was also assigned 100 shares of RTN 195 strike last night. Of course I sold this morning, and sold the 1/18, 175s. I still have 4c at the 195s that exp this Friday. RTN close at 174 today. I wonder if I will get assigned tonight.

I can tell you I had luck with the last 2 GOOGL trade from Teddi.

I had one account where I was wipe out, depressing.

I do feel a bit better now having a chance to let it out.

    Thanks for sharing.

    Happy Thanksgiving!

    Alvin

    Teddi,

Thank You for your comments and suggestions.

Definitely, if I am selling puts, will consider 1 or 2 contracts for now, until the market turns.

I like the idea of selling calls, my concern has always been if the stock reach my call strike price, I would need to buy the stock to make it a cover call or buy to close and take a loss. I find rolling calls up very difficult. Rolling puts down is a lot easier. Even if I have the cash, at what point do I consider buying the stock.

I was just not feeling too good at the time when I posted my comment. You could say I was kind of venting.

Thank you for the replies and suggestions. I appreciate all your trade suggestions.

    Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

    Alvin

Would you consider holding the short $110 calls naked and if necessary buy shares to turn it to covered call if PEP reaches $110?

    Thanks.

I definitely like to see a bounce to 165 or close to it in a couple of weeks. When I did the roll, it was trading at 163. I always hope for the best, but it don’t always work.

I rolled my 167.50 to 165, 9/21, for a credit of .35 earlier and stc long 150 for .07. It just a naked put now.

Don’t your broker provide you with your gains and losses each year? Mine even provide a number for wash sales.

Amy, I have been experiencing more assignments too. I am not too concern over assignments, as I can pretty much recreate the same position if I wanted to. It’s down on repeated same old news, https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-06-05/macau-concerns-trigger-three-day-plunge-in-wynn-resorts. I will hold until Friday before I roll. I hope I don’t get assigned and a recovery so I can get a better roll. I like to keep my rolls tight. I don’t like to go too far out. We will see. Good luck to us on our trades

Teddi, I find myself lacking funds to add in situations like this. This market has taken away a lot of margin room. This market has taken a toll on me. I will keep rolling down, but when you go too far out, the long put is very expensive. Alvin

Teddi or anyone, how is the 7 and 15 day ema applied to the chart for trading the spy? I understand the William R%50. I am unable to find any explanation on the EMA. Thanks. Alvin

Teddi, how do you use the ema to assist. Did I miss it? Thanks. Alvin

Teddi, thank you for your response. I was just trying to figure out how do you pick your time of entry when it is in overbought or oversold territory. Also once you enter the trade, do you just monitor the chart and close the trade when you feel it is turning. I guess all this is judgement call and is very subjective. Alvin
