I know I like to have a quick reference as some holidays are not official holidays for the exchanges. To assist here are the holidays when stock exchanges in both the United States and Canada will not be open.

  • New Years’ Day – NA
  • Martin Luther King, Jr. Day – Mon Jan 17
  • Presidents’ Day (Washington’s Birthday) – Mon Feb 21
  • Good Friday – Fri Apr 15 – bond market closes at 2:00 PM April 14
  • Memorial Day – Mon May 30 – bond market closes at 2:00 PM May 27
  • Juneteenth – Mon June 20
  • Independence Day – Mon Jul 4 -bond market closes at 2:00 PM Jul 1
  • Labor Day – Mon Sept 5
  • Columbus Day – Mon Oct 10 – only bond markets close – stock markets are open
