Despite being under some selling pressure this morning, there is a lot to like about the latest Manulife Financial earnings. Their goal was to achieve earnings of $4 billion for the fiscal 2016 year. They met that goal and beat earnings estimates of $1.85 to return $1.96 in earnings. That compares with $1.68 per share for a year earlier.
Earnings Jump 16.6%
That’s a 16.6% earnings jump. That will reduce the stock’s price to earnings ratio below the industry average.
Dividend Boosted 11%
As well they boosted their dividend 11 percent to a quarterly payout of $0.205 cents per share.
