Another stellar trade this week was in Facebook Stock. Facebook Stock has remained one of the more volatile stocks I trade against around earnings announcements. It has yet to fail to provide an exceptional return and the latest trade started Jan 26, which concluded on Friday, was no different.

Quarterly Profit Doubled

For the first time, Facebook’s fourth-quarter profit doubled its quarterly profit and boosted revenue above $5 billion. This past quarter Facebook earned more than Yahoo now does in a year. Earnings came in at $1.56 billion. The company picked up another 46 million users in the latest quarter. This brings the total number of users to 1.59 billion. Revenue was up 52% from the same quarter last year and it share of the digital advertising market has risen to 10 percent from 8 percent.
