The outlook for the TSX for Wednesday was for weakness but there were growing signs of a possible bounce. This is the reason why as explained on Tuesday, I closed some of the short XIU positions in the market direction portfolio. Yesterday the market was impacted by poor earnings out of Bank of Montreal and fell lower. Today the Royal Bank of Canada and National Bank of Canada reported good earnings and the market turned right around and move back up. Royal Bank stock headed higher up 3.66% at the close to $77.80 a gain of $2.75. National Bank Of Canada stock also moved up 3.26% to close at $48.43, a gain of $1.53.
As well our dollar moved higher again, up to 80.50 cents US.
