Bank Of Montreal Stock (BMO) Trades For 2014 Update

I entered into trading Bank of Montreal Stock in May of 2014 in my online Canadian Portfolio. Bank Of Montreal Stock trades under the symbol BMO both on the Toronto Stock Exchange and New York. I trade BMO Stock only on the Toronto Stock Exchange in Canadian Dollars.

The latest update in BMO Stock trades shows a number of longer covered calls positions and two naked puts positions. The stock still consumes a fair amount of my Canadian portfolio but where it was once the second largest holding, it has now required less capital as more profits keep pouring into the trades.

Dividend Increase

While the latest quarterly earnings missed estimates by 5 cents, the company still earned $1.63 a share in the last quarter, on par with the same quarter last year. While disappointing to see no real increase in growth for the period, much of the weakness came from fix income trading whereas retail banking in both Canada and the US was very strong. The bank announced another dividend increase of 8 cents per year or 2.5%. This brings the annual dividend to $3.20 which at $80.60 where the stock is presently trading works out to 3.97%.

Bank Of Montreal Stock At $67.09

My trades in Bank of Montreal stock this year have earned enough income that my cost per share if assigned on all positions is down at $67.09. This is a full 16% lower than where the stock is presently trading. The power of earning income through combining options with stock and dividend earnings cannot be underestimated. Trades this this BMO Stock trade continue to show the full value of combining options with stocks for both safety of capital as well as far greater earnings potential.

The trades for 2014 are worth checking out. There are two active trades from July which I am continuing to roll and actively use the Hide and Seek Covered Calls Strategy on.

There are a variety of trades being done. Put Selling is common but there are a lot of covered calls stretching from in the money to out of the money. I have set up my own weekly style of covered calls even though the stock is available only for monthly options and I have established some very decent returns through selling slightly in the money calls.
