This weekend (Apr 1 to 2) I worked with tech support as we made the FullyInformed website, SSL Compliant. We have never stored personal details or payment details on the website. I use PayPal for all credit card transaction which means everything done is at “arm’s length”. No credit card details, numbers, amounts, names, even credit card type used are made available to my site. This keeps all the security with a company that has a reputation as one of the leading providers of credit card protection. While no one can protect an individual who uses a very easy or simple password when opening or securing an account, PayPal has yet to had any major breech of its full networks despite it being one of the major companies continually being tested by hackers around the world.
By changing to SSL for the website, it will load a fraction slower, but data transferred and password and login details used are encrypted which adds another layer of security, especially for members of both the FullyInformed.com Members website and the FullyInformed.com Private Members Forums.
Login, Join, Renewal, Forums, Investing Tools, Shop and Form Pages Are Encrypted
All pages where information of any kind is shared or input are fully encrypted.
New Investor Profile Accounts
This new layer of security is being added to the FullyInformed website for the upcoming addition of more investing tools and new personal profile accounts that investors will eventually be able to setup to monitor the stocks they are interested in following. These new profiles, when they become available will allow investors to quickly check their personal watch list of trades and maintain a “spreadsheet” type format showing expiry dates of trades, income being generated as well as tips on closing early or advice for when a trade might be changing direction and may be consideration for early closure. While this is still in the planning stages with tech support, new tools are being released shortly along with additions to existing tools and encryption will make these tools more secure.
Some Pages Are Partially Encrypted
As the FullyInformed.com website dates back to 2008, you may stumble upon a page that is partially secure. On those pages you will see that the “lock” symbol has a red line through it. This is because not all elements on the page have been encrypted, just any login details.
The partial encryption is because images and/or links are related to older pages as well as search results which date back up to 8 years when charts, images and links were not encrypted at that time. However no details on partly encrypted pages contain login details or usernames so there is no data to be “hacked” or “stolen”. Therefore the partial encryption notice or warning is not a concern and you will not see it often.
Security Is Important
Security and privacy are important. You will see that as new pages, posts and tools are continually added to the website, they will all be encrypted.
Thank you for being a member and keep sending in your ideas for additions and improvements to the website. They are appreciated.
